Upcoming Blackboard Workshops and Webinars

All faculty members are invited to attend any of the following workshops at the beginning of the fall 2015 semester to review how to use Blackboard tools that make instruction more efficient and student learning experiences more effective. No registration is required, simply attend the sessions of your choice.

Blackboard Beginning of the Semester Tasks

In this one hour information session, faculty will review essential tasks to prepare themselves for teaching with Blackboard. Topics covered include: How to log into Blackboard and access courses; adding syllabi to courses, making courses available to students, and identifying resources to support their use of Blackboard. Faculty may attend the session by coming to the Faculty Innovation Center or may attend remotely through our Collaborate meeting room (use provided link below).

Instructor Training for Respondus LockDown Browser

In this one hour webinar, faculty will receive in-depth training on using Respondus LockDown Browser, a tool in Blackboard that allows instructors to increase the security of online tests. It is best used in proctored testing environments, such as a lab or classroom. Faculty may attend a viewing of the webinar in the Faculty Innovation Center or register to view the webinar on their own computers.

Getting Started with Grade Center Management

Faculty provide grade feedback to students throughout the semester by using a course’s Grade Center. In this presentation, you will review how to create columns, enter grades and feedback, and apply best practices for managing the grading process. Faculty may attend the session by coming to the Faculty Innovation Center or may attend remotely through our Collaborate meeting room.
